Love this place because there is so much open room for the kids to run and observe everything.
They loved watching the river otters swimming and playing around.
Making Maple Syrup in New York
Luckily this year we were able to be part of the first batch of maple syrup made for the season. It ended up being a rather poor year for it actually because of the warm weather, but we were able to be part of the first and best run. This was the first year for the reverse osmosis machine as well. This cuts the boiling time down significantly because it takes alot of the water out of the sap. They also bought a filter press to help keep up with the larger quantities of syrup being produced. Cool operation! Actually pretty steamy.
